Hans Gugelot (1920 – 1965) was a Dutch/ German architect and designer. His father was chief physician in a sanatorium in Davos. Therefore, Hans Gugelot grew up in Switzerland, where he attended the engineering school in Lausanne and later ETH in Zurich. from 1954 he was a lecturer at the Ulm University of Design, where he worked closely with Max Bill. Gugelot 1948 designed the “Model 1363 Model” lying chair. Form plywood and solid wood beech. The seat shell is placed loosely on the basis, which means that the tendency can be continuously changed. The “Model 1363” lying chair is primarily an extremely rare design object, which is probably less intended for daily use. It is in its original condition, is stable and has a breathtaking patina. Length approx. 120cm.
