The handle comprises a panel to fit across the full width of the door, with a large raised push-pull plate at one end. Patina suggests it was previously used with the plate on the left, but could be switched around as required. The large back panel is also fitted with brackets which allow it to be spaced from the door – and they are included in the depth below – but could be removed.
In good vintage condition with lots of interesting patina from years of handling, weathering and re-finishing. There are old signs of gold tones – now largely worn away but remaining to the back, lower edge and scant signs to the front – a dark grey-black finish, possibly paint and other deposits, with exposed silvery aluminium. All beautifully worn and left as found.
Could work vertically, or horizontally, as a door handle or wall decoration with some adaptation.
