A beautiful finely carved British Colonial wooden circular side table from India or Ceylon. The circular top with a broad shallow relief detailed border depicting a lion and serpent amidst a dense tropical forest interspersed with exotic birds and waving palm trees, partitioned by triple domed pavilions and stylized rocky outcroppings, within beaded trim above a gently sloping reticulated flange of exotic birds foraging amidst berried scrolling vines, on a pierced columnar stem of paired intertwined serpents, over spread winged eagles alternating splayed cabriole legs with blossoming curly vine detailed hips ending in scrolling acanthus leaf carved feet.
