Bedside Tables by Vittorio Dassi, 1970s, Set of 2

Pair of bedside tables is an original design item realized in the 1970s by Vittorio Dassi. An elegant couple of wooden bedside table with decorative top. The creations of Vittorio Dassi (1893-1973), made in the 1940s and 1950s, are distinguished by the choice of the precious woods such as rosewood, cherry, ash and walnut, often decorated with inlaid panels and crystals signed by great glass masters. Elegant in design without losing functional quality, his furnishings can be compared to the refined style of Gio Ponti, to whom Vittorio was linked by important collaborations after taking over from his father in the Dassi Mobili Moderni company in Lissone. In fact, one of the most important projects of the factory is the creation of the furniture in the rooms of the Royal Hotel in Naples, designed by Ponti in the mid-1950s, a period that marked Dassi’s turning point towards more schematic forms and teak wood for the production of modular furniture.
